This server has gone through two phases prior to the one we are at now, so most of the guides on the forum are no longer up-to-date, hence why I am making a new guide.
First of all, the xp rates of the server:
XP VS monsters - x2
Drops - x4
Kamas - x2
Honor (PvP) - x6
Job - x10
To play on the server you must first download the client, which contains a 1.29 client of dofus. You need winrar (recommended by me) or winzip to extract the files in there to somewhere on your pc, it doesn't matter where as long as you remember where you've stored it. After you've extracted it, you have to download this .rar file, which contains an updated UI with tactical mode, creature mode, anti lag mode and also the config file, which is the reason you don't have to download it seperately. After downloading it, go ahead and open it and extract it to your dofus folder, when asked if you want to overwrite files, go ahead and overwrite all of them. You should also download this file and put it in your dofus folder, your anti-virus might say that it's a virus, this is because running it messes around with internet explorer files and settings, go ahead and ignore it. The reason you need this file will be explained later. You'll also need to register an account to log in on the server, which can be done here.
When you start up the game for the first time go ahead and run Cache.exe, it'll do some magic and afterwards the game should open, in the top-right corner it should say configuration: Vindictive Trance and server: vTrance, if it only says the first thing, go ahead and launch the game again and it should be fixed. Go ahead and click on OK under it. You'll now be greeted by a log-in screen. Before logging in make sure to click on either the United States' flag or the United Kingdom's flag, this is to make sure all custom content works correctly. Once you log in, click on create a character and select the Jiva server. Create any character you want and go and click on them to log into the game. You should start out in incarnam, you can walk to the ferry to astrub immediately or you can stay in incarnam for the first few levels. Once you get to astrub, you should walk to the astrub zaap to save it so you spawn there when you die. When you are at the zaap, you should notice there are two NPCs standing next to it, Reece Tatt and Swa Low. If these NPCs are undefined, first of all make sure that your game is set to english, if it already is, close the game and run cache.exe. They should now have names. You also should run cache.exe when there is a server update, it makes sure that new and custom content works as intended. Reece Tatt makes you teleport to restat island for the cost of 50000 kamas, if you want to use a different element or remove a few spells so you can level a few others. Swa Low sells two items, a bag that gives a bunch of pods and a dofus that reduces your PP by a lot and gives you a bunch of pods, you can use this dofus to grind for xp without getting any drops that would make you have to drop stuff all the time because that's annoying.
If you are wondering what all the commands that you can use are, there's not a lot. Just type .commandes in the chat and press enter. The available commands at the time of writing are .infos (shows some info like how many players are online), .save (saves your character to the database so you are sure it doesn't get rolled back when the server crashes), .staff (shows which staff members are online) and .reboot (if the server is laggy, type this. If afterwards the majority of the players online type .reboot, the server restarts).
The server doesn't have a lot of shops from which you can buy things, most things can be dropped from monsters however, with the exception of weapons. The list for drops is in french here or in google-translated english here. The drops system is kind of broken, with which I mean that once you've reached the PP at which a certain item is unlocked, you will almost always get it after one fight. This is also why it is recommended to make a few alt-accounts just so you can get some equipment on your own.
Now you might be wondering where to level, I won't write a detailed guide in here but in short:
Lvl 0 to 50 - Snappers - from astrub zaap go walk towards the astrub rocky inlet (north-east above astrub city) and do some small mobs with your alts, once you think you can do bigger mobs go ahead and do them.
Alternative routes:
Lvl 25 to 50 - Blops - from astrub zaap go and head to the western city gate and walk northwards a few maps and then westwards a few maps, you should be at blop meadow. Go and fight small mobs that are weak against the element you use. Also drop a really good lvl 50 set if you have 525 PP.
Lvl 40 to 50 - Kwaks - from astrub zaap, use the zaap, go to crackler mountain, walk on the left-hand portal. If you have 450 PP you can get some good sets here, also the pets they drop are really good and will atleast last you until high level.
Lvl 50 to 100 - Ouginaks - from astrub zaap, use the zaap, go to sidemote moor, fight the mobs from there all the way to brakmar city.
Lvl 70 to 120 - Zoths - from astrub zaap, use the zaap, go to zoth village zaap, fight the mobs there. You have to know how the zoths work and you'll need some kind of map manipulation (preferably sacrier) to make sure the warrior zoths are never near the other zoths, since they buff their damage by A LOT. If you are low level just go ahead and ignore any mobs that have a zoth master, as they steal AP and it doesnt go back until the end of the fight, so if you mess up one turn it can make you lose a fight.
Lvl 90 to 130 - Dreggon dungeon (needs keys) - from astrub zaap, use the zaap, go to scaraleaf plain, go to the kanojedo on [-4,24], go inside, talk to the npc. The first few rooms are not that good for xp but the last 3-ish rooms are better than zoth by a long shot. Requires some kind of map manipulator or extreme range since there is a platform room where the mobs are all spread around and you can't walk to them. Also requires a healer that can heal for a good amount per turn since in those later turns you'll have to take a lot of damage.
Lvl 110 to 150 - Tree Keeholo Trunk - from astrub zaap, go to zoth village, walk up a map, walk right a map, walk all the way up until you can no more, walk left until you reach a map with an imp carrier, on that map go through the gate and walk on the southern portals. Really depends on mob level, high level Light Treecklers and Air Pikokos give a lot more xp than zoths but low levels give about the same. Light Treecklers have negative air resistance and agility Pikokos have negative strength resistance. Air pikokos can deal more than 500 damage per turn, be warned.
Lvl 150 to 200 - Do endgame dungeons, or fungus mobs. Get XP while getting end-game sets. Go here for a list of dungeons that work.
Did I forget anything? Should I add anything? Suggestions wanted
